Ilitch Companies Volunteers Deliver Pet Food for Michigan Humane

In July, the Ilitch Companies Foundation partnered with Michigan Humane for a volunteer project to deliver pet food to those who are not physically able to leave their homes or lack transportation resources. Volunteers loaded up pet food from the Caplan Family Pet Food Pantry and delivered it to community members.

"My favorite part about this is just knowing that people aren't going to be waiting for their pet food. The fact that we have people that are willing to give us their time, which is probably the most valuable thing they have, so that we can help others is an amazing thing,” said Mark Ramos, Community Resource Manager at Michigan Humane. “Having this many volunteers from the Ilitch Companies Foundation come down here and help us out is huge. Today, we're probably pushing out two months worth of home deliveries in one day."

As a part of a commitment to community impact, the Ilitch Companies Foundation has developed a lasting relationship with Michigan Humane, regularly engaging through hands-on efforts and sustained investment in their mission.

Each year, Michigan Humane presents the Ilitch Companies Foundation Corporate Volunteer Award to recognize an organization or company that exemplifies outstanding volunteer support. The award is named in honor of the Ilitch Companies Foundation’s long-standing dedication to Michigan Humane’s work.
