Ilitch Sports + Entertainment Invests in Los Angeles Golf Club and Named Sponsorship Agency of Record to Help Drive Growth
Ilitch Sports + Entertainment (IS+E) today announced it has invested in the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) of TGL presented by Sofi and will serve as LAGC’s sponsorship agency of record.
“LAGC is reimagining how fans experience golf,” said Ryan Gustafson, President and CEO of IS+E. “Joining LAGC puts us at the center of that transformation. The club represents a bold vision for the sport’s future, uniting innovation, community, and culture. Through TGL, we’re excited to help shape that vision by building partnerships, programs, and experiences to engage fans and expand the sport’s reach.”
As part of the relationship, IS+E, the business division of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers and operator of award-winning venues, will serve as LAGC’s sponsorship agency of record and act as an extension of LAGC’s internal team.
“We’re proud to welcome IS+E into our investor group,” said Neal Hubman, President, LAGC. “Their deep expertise in sports, entertainment, and fan engagement aligns perfectly with our mission to make golf more accessible and inclusive. Together, we’ll continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible for the game.”
Backed by decades of experience across live events, professional sports, entertainment, and venue operations, IS+E will leverage its network and expertise in sponsorship sales, brand development, data analytics, broadcasting, and media to help LAGC grow its commercial platform and create new opportunities for fans and partners.
LAGC is owned by Alexis Ohanian (Seven Seven Six), and IS+E joins an investor group with Serena Williams, Venus Williams, the Antetokounmpo brothers, Alex Morgan, Michelle Wie West, Shonda Rhimes, and Good Good Golf.
The club’s current roster of golfers includes PGA TOUR stars Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose, and Tommy Fleetwood.
TGL currently features six teams: Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links Golf Club, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, and The Bay Golf Club. A seventh team, Motor City Golf Club, was recently announced as the league’s first expansion team.
