The Detroit Tigers have advanced to face the Seattle Mariners in the American League Division Series, which means postseason baseball will be played at Comerica Park for the second consecutive season.

After the ALDS begins in Seattle this weekend, the series transitions to Detroit for Game 3 on Tuesday, Oct. 7 and Game 4 on Wednesday, Oct. 8 (if necessary). First pitch times for Games 3 and 4 are yet to be announced by Major League Baseball.

“There’s nothing quite like postseason baseball in Detroit, and we can’t wait to celebrate alongside our fans next week,” said Asia Gholston, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing. “We’ve enjoyed an incredible home-field advantage all season long, and our great fans know it’s most important to show up and be loud in October. We encourage all fans to wear orange at all postseason games and to arrive early to enjoy all the pregame festivities.”

Comerica Park gates will open two hours before first pitch for ALDS games, and all ticketed fans will receive a Postseason Rally Towel giveaway, presented by Meijer.

Roberto Clemente Learning Academy Visit

On Friday, Oct. 3, the Tigers will capture the excitement of youth in Detroit leading into the ALDS by visiting Roberto Clemente Learning Academy.

Third-to-fifth-grade students with perfect attendance this year will gather at the beginning and end of the event to be energized by a DJ, receive temporary tattoos from an airbrush tattoo artist and receive giveaway items from the Tigers.

The students will be split into two groups to engage in different activities, including drawing/art and baseball/softball. In the drawing/art activity, students will complete Tigers-themed artwork, which will be posted between the clubhouse and dugout at Comerica Park for players to see throughout the postseason. In the baseball/softball activity, students will engage in drills and compete in a wiffle ball game.

In addition to the perfect-attendance students, all 500-plus Roberto Clemente Learning Academy students will receive a Tigers-branded backpack filled with Tigers postseason items.
